Dance

Dance programs at The Children’s Aid Society are designed to teach youngsters technique and appreciation while providing them with a physical and creative outlet.
Children's Aid offers a diversity of dance classes and clubs across our community schools and community centers - both traditional and otherwise. For example, the list of clubs at Manhattan Center for Science and Math includes Capoeria, a Brazilian movement art combining dance and martial arts, and Breakdancing.
We also partner with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in the creation of CAS/AileyCamp and the American Ballet Theatre in connection with its wonderful Make a Ballet program.
Through these programs, students achieve a greater appreciation for dance in all its forms and increased confidence in their own ability to persevere and overcome obstacles.
