Adolescent Services/ Teen Program
The Children's Aid Society East Harlem Center "Dare-to-Dream" Teen Program uses tested youth development strategies and programming to help youth aged 13-20 make a successful transition to adulthood.
Adolescent/Teen Services:
- Personal Development: Male and Female Life Skills/Socialization Groups emphasize personal development.
- Leadership and Character Development: Hope Leadership/VIP and Keystone Club use community involvement, entrepreneurial projects and workshops to build confidence and self-awareness.
- Computer Services: Computer Lab, Technology Playground, D-Zine Team, Movie Tech and Resume Tech programs develop basic and advanced computer literacy.
- Education Services: Individual and Group Tutoring, Microsoft Excel training and College and SAT Prep courses assist youth in developing the literacy and math skills necessary for high school, college and employment.
- Career Readiness: Corporate Workplace, Stipend Employment and Career Development programs prepare youth for the work world by teaching interviewing skills, resume building, job application completion and employment etiquette. Summer and year-round stipend employment opportunities are available.
- Arts and Culture: Dance, drama and music workshops; culinary arts and arts and crafts classes address diversity and cultural enrichment through creative expression.
- Sports and Recreation: Activities such as game room, teen lounge, gym, sporting events/activities, team sports and the double-dutch team help youth develop positive physical health, socialization and sportsmanship skills.
Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday 6-9 p.m.
Requirements for Admission:
- Youth must be between 13-20 years old.
- Completed Teen and OST Applications.
- Current physical examination.
