Bikes for Kids 2006
Nov 4 2006
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Inaugural Bikes for Kids presented by Prudential Financial The New York Agency and supported by the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) was held on November 4, 2006. Seventy-five children were selected to participate in Bikes for Kids based on their attendance, behavior and participation in programs at three Children’s Aid Society locations.
These lucky children attended the Bikes for Kids event at The Children’s Aid Society’s Dunlevy Milbank Center thinking they were participating in a party with games, dancing, bike safety training and a barbeque. Of course their parents and guardians were aware that these children would be taking home a brand new bike at the end of the day. Imagine the surprise when seventy-five gleaming new bikes were revealed at the end of the event and each child was able to take one home.
Generous donations from employees of Prudential Financial The New York Agency and members ALPFA helped provide bikes, bike locks, helmets and party activities for underserved children — children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to own a bike.
