In November 2007, The Children’s Aid Society opened the first orthodontic clinic located in a public school, at Salomé Ureña de Henríquez Campus in Washington Heights. The clinic is named Casa de Sonrisas, which is Spanish for "House of Smiles."

Children’s Aid dental staff partner with practitioners from St. Barnabas Hospital’s Orthodontic Program to provide a range of orthodontic care. St. Barnabas also provides back-up services, including surgical and specialty children’s dental care.

Orthodontic services are available at a special reduced rate. In addition those children with Medicaid will also be treated if they meet the guidelines set by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Oral Rehabilitation Program.

Funding for Children's Aid's Dental Services is provided (in part) by a grant from the American Dental Association Foundation.
