Youth in our academic programs receive tutoring support from peers and staff as well as volunteers. Sessions are designed to enrich and enhance literacy, math and writing skills.
Morning programs offer GED preparation support or other equivalency degree training for older adolescents and/or drop outs. Referrals to other agencies are also available.
We Offer:
- Homework Help
- Math & English Tutoring
- Specialized 1-on-1 or small group instruction
- Skill Support (GED)
- Peer education training and leadership development that provides opportunities for learning, developing, and service that focus on education and awareness about violence prevention, victim assistance, cultural diversity, and many other important topics.
- Educational opportunities such as tutoring, homework help, photography, poetry, drama, culinary arts
- Computer-based training on various technologies ranging from word processing software to digital media
- Developmental opportunities such as reproductive health education, career and college planning, cultural enrichment, personal development, gender groups and counseling
- Community service opportunities, including neighborhood projects and citywide volunteer programs
Level 1: Open to all young people ages 14-21
