WHAT:
Ciara will be sharing the spotlight with Mark Indelicato of Ugly Betty, Chaske Spencer of Twilight, and singer and actress, Leah Renee, and teen volunteers. They will be working side-by-side to stuff 5,000 bags with notebooks, calculators, binders and other basic school supplies to be distributed to local youth in need, just in time for back-to-school.
WHEN:
Tuesday, August 4, 2009
10:30 AM
WHERE:
The Children's Aid Society Dunlevy Milbank Boys and Girls Club
14-32 West 118th Street (bet. Lenox & Fifth Ave)
New York, NY 10026
WHY:
As part of Do Something 101 (www.dosomething101.org), Ciara teamed up all summer with DoSomething.org and Staples to encourage teens to make a difference by collecting school supplies to benefit low-income youth in their communities. From July through September 19, teens can drop off supplies at their nearest Staples store with 100 percent of the donations going to local educational and not-for-profit organizations serving disadvantaged youth.
