Children’s Theatre Redefined!

Adapted By Brainerd Duffield
Produced and Directed by Stephen Michael Rondel

Imagine Alice, 7 years old, born and raised in today’s Greenwich Village, New York City. From the moment she wakes up until she rests her weary head, her parents over-schedule and manage her day. With Architecture, Piano, Book Club, French and Ballet classes overwhelming her, Alice has forgotten what it is like to be a child and simply play.

Will her journey through Wonderland help her reclaim her childhood or is Alice destined to become an adult way before her time?

Come see what audience and critics have called, “the best kind of children’s theater…clever without being dull and amusing without being dumb…as entertaining for adults as is it for the children in the audience.”

The cast is comprised of a tight ensemble of four professional adult actors and five young actors trained directly from our program.

Here is what critics have said about us…
“The New Acting Company embodies the best kind of children’s theatre…the pacing is brisk, the writing is earnest, and the staging is savvy and sophisticated.”
-Martin Denton, NewYorkTheatre.com – Wild Thing

“Monica Flory’s script is both scrupulously faithful to Rudyard Kipling and completely original in its approach…created a vibrant, wild world…ingenious costumes, these actors may be the most convincing stage animals south of “The Lion King”…easily appeals to theatergoers.”
-Laurel Graeber, New York Times - The Jungle Book

“More than a lesson on good behavior for children. It is also a lesson on how children’s theater can be clever without being dull, and amusing without being dumb”
-Lauren Snyder, Offoffonline - Sideways Stories from Wayside School

“And you thought the cast of Spring Awakening was young!”
-Barbara Hoffman, NY Post – Once Upon a Pandora’s Box
