Children’s Aid Chorus Wins Prestigious Award
May 7, 2008
The Children's Aid Society’s Senior Chorus won first place in the high school division and then went on to take first place overall at the “Music in the Parks Festival” in Largo, Maryland in late April. The Chorus scored an impressive Superior Rating in the competition for the overall prize!
The Senior Chorus is now preparing for the Children’s Aid Society Eleventh Annual Spring Concert on Friday, May 16. The Concert will be held at the New York Society for Ethical Culture, 2 West 64th Street at Central Park West, at 7:00 pm. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
The award-winning Senior Chorus will be flanked by seventeen other Children’s Aid Choruses. The program will include the world premiere of two compositions commissioned this spring as part of Children’s Aid’s “Future Songs of the City” grant program.
