Classic's Debut in NYC to Benefit The Children's Aid Society
Youth from Children’s Aid programs to Attend Event

City vs. Regional and National All-Star Games

When:
Saturday, April 16
1st game, 5:30 p.m.; 2nd game 8:00 p.m. (media check-in begins 3:30 p.m.

Where:
Madison Square Garden, use 33rd St. and 8th Avenue entrance

What:
Jordan Classic, premier high school all-star basketball event, to be played in New York City for the first time. The Children’s Aid Society, a non-profit children’s services agency, will be the official charitable beneficiary. A check will be presented to Children’s Aid during the National (second) Game.

There will be two games: the first game pits New York City vs. Regional High School All-Stars, the second game will be played by National All-Stars. Entertainment between games will be provided by hip-hop artist Fat Joe.

Michael Jordan, Terrell Owens (Philadelphia Eagles) and Warren Sapp (Oakland Raiders), Vince Carter (New Jersey Nets), Chris Paul (Wake Forest), Shannon Brown(Michigan State), Rudy Gay (University of Connecticut), Rashad McCants (University of North Carolina), Jarret Jack (Georgia Tech), Marvin Harrison (Indianapolis Colts), event emcee Doug E. Fresh, President of Jordan Larry Miller, and more to be announced! Player rosters are available on request.

The Children’s Aid Society has been named the official charity beneficiary of the 2005 Jordan Classic. Children’s Aid is one of the nation’s largest and most innovative children’s services agencies, assisting over 150,000 children and families in the New York City area. Children’s Aid will receive a portion of the ticket proceeds. The agency supports a number of youth basketball leagues and other sports programs, in addition to education, health, foster care and adoption, and other services.
