History
The Children’s Aid Society is the lead community-based organization at the Roberto Clemente School I.S. 166. In partnership with the principal, Children's Aid administers a master schedule for all of the school's community-based organization activities and functions. Children's Aid has organized all the after-school programs to allow students to take the most advantage of available resources. This creates a community culture within the building.
The Children’s Aid Society also provides mental health services for students and their families. School staff and administration refer students and families to the Children's Aid social worker, who meets with them throughout the school day as well as during after-school hours.
The school is named after Roberto Clemente, a Puerto Rican native and right fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates who was the first Latino to be named to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
