Children's Aid Camps

During the summer months, The Children's Aid Society offers an extensive selection of educational, recreational and cultural programs across 17 locations in Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester and Staten Island.

Camps combine educational and cultural experiences with good, old summer fun.

Children's Aid summer camps not only help to keep children safe, but introduce fun, engaging and intellectually stimulating activities that counter "summer slide," when students lose educational ground during summer vacation.

Children's Aid camp offerings include:

  • Country Day Camps: Wagon Road Camp in Westchester County and William Osborn Day Camp in Staten Island provide a break from the busy pace of city life. Bringing children from different neighborhoods and cultures together, the camps combine learning with outdoor summer fun.
  • City Day Camps: Based in our neighborhood centers, these programs combine summer activities with field trips to state parks and other recreational, cultural and historic destinations.
  • Dance Camp: Alvin Ailey Camp combines typical day camp activities and field trips with the highest quality dance instruction.
  • Respite Camp: Children's Aid also operates a year-round Respite Camp for physically and developmentally disabled children from low-income families. Respite campers participate in activities that would otherwise be inaccessible to them because of their disabilities and limited financial means. This time away from home creates a needed diversion for youth, and provides parents and other dedicated caregivers with some well-earned rest.
