The Philip Coltoff Center at Greenwich Village has been providing outstanding programs and services to the downtown community since 1892. The center is currently offering a range of services that includes Early Childhood, Nursery, After School, Children's Art, Children's Theater, and Adult programming. The Philip Coltoff Center at Greenwich Village is proud to operate under the auspices of The Children's Aid Society.
The Center's mission is to be a center of community life, to provide high quality programs and sponsor events that enrich the social, cultural, intellectual and creative lives of the children, families and community at large. The Center offers scholarship support to children and families to facilitate their participation in these programs.
Our Center was renovated in 1994 and has bright, spacious and well-equipped classrooms, photography studio, woodshop, pottery studio, art studio and dance studio. Our theater seats 120 and our auditorium has a seating capacity for 250 people. Additionally, we have a regulation-size gymnasium.
This extensive space not only allows for quality programming but offers excellent choices for accommodating special events and space rentals. The Center seeks to maximize usage of its facilities in service of its larger mission within the community.
