President Barack Obama’s call to community service inspired six young Broadway stars to raise nearly $900 to support The Children’s Aid Society. The youths wanted to help New York City children and families in need. After some Internet research, they chose The Children’s Aid Society as the beneficiary of their fundraising efforts.

In addition to a bake sale, on Valentine’s Day the young actors and actresses took on roles off-stage as “Cupid’s Little Helpers.” They sold pipe-cleaner flowers and red hearts at Broadway’s Vivian Beaumont Theater. On February 25, the talented youngsters presented Patricia M. Grayson, Assistant Executive Director for Development for The Children’s Aid Society, with a check for $879.
